The Open Group to Bring Together Enterprise Architecture Experts at EA for Sustainability Virtual Event

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, July 13th, 2023: The Open Group, the vendor-neutral technology standards organization, is hosting its upcoming global virtual event on July 25 - 27, 2023. The event will see subject matter experts discuss how Enterprise Architecture (EA) contributes to sustainable IT and business practices. 

On Monday, attendees will hear from a range of experts how, using EA, organizations can identify areas where they can improve their environmental and social impact, while still achieving their business goals. Speakers will also include Henrik Hvid Jensen, Industry Managing Partner, DXC Technology, who will talk about accelerating digitizing the global circular economy, and Steve Nicholls, DXC Technologist, DXC Technology, who will discuss how to build an agile organization through a sustainability lens. 

Tuesday will focus on the TOGAF® Standard, a standard of The Open Group, with a user group that will explore the latest developments around the standard, its associated certification and training programs, and examine how they will impact businesses in the agile and digital environment. Alix Horton, Strategic Partner Manager Microsoft & Azure UK and Ireland, IBM, and Paul Homan, CTO for Industrial Sector, IBM Services UK & Ireland, will introduce a new working group for the investigation into increasing digital inclusivity. Attendees will also hear from Aaron Rorstromm, Chief Architect Application Services, Capgemini, and Caryn Sklar, Certified Chief Architect, Capgemini, who will discuss how to use TOGAF to support a culture of innovation. 

The final day of the event will be dedicated to The Open Group India Awards for Innovation and Excellence. The awards will celebrate and recognize organizations and teams that have reached the pinnacle of achievement in applying The Open Group standards, open-source software and best practices in Enterprise Architecture, IT management, cybersecurity and digital transformation.

Digital Transformation Through Industry Reference Architecture: The ZiRA Hospital Reference Architecture: Steve Sloan, Kyndryl’s Chief Technical Officer, will provide a glimpse at The Open Group Healthcare Forum's recent work on the English translation of the ZiRA reference architecture. This session will identify the value of industry reference architectures in defining enterprise strategy and managing transformation risk, providing examples from the upcoming ZiRA release.
