IT4IT™ Forum Members' Meeting
Objective of Meeting
The IT4IT Forum has been established by enterprise customers, IT service providers, and tools vendors to help IT departments address the strategic challenges brought about by the changing IT landscape. It will create and drive the adoption of the IT4IT standard to provide a vendor-neutral Reference Architecture that supports management and execution across the IT value chain. The Reference Architecture will enable the provision of data-driven insights that help IT organizations focus on business outcomes while delivering solutions faster and with reduced cost and risk.
The primary purpose of the meeting was to further the work of the Forum.
Summary
The meeting saw the successful launch of the People Certification Program for the IT4IT Reference Architecture. At the time of launch, there are 11 accredited training providers, and there are over 50 individuals on the certification register.
The meeting consisted of a series of working group meetings, together with a series of discussion sessions of the full Forum.
The Content working groups continued or started their work on the following topics: Core, IT Financial Management, IT Asset Management, Service Model Management, Model Maturity, and CxO Value Proposition.
The Core working group, which is responsible for the overall planning and integration of the Content working groups, continued the planning for the next version of the Technical Standard. It is currently planned that the next version will be released by December 2016.
It was agreed to merge the IT Financial Management and IT Asset Management working groups as there is significant overlap between both their scopes and the participants.
There were discussion sessions on the following topics: Service Model, IT Operating Model, Interfaces to External Service Providers, and Future Evolution and Expansion to support Modern Service Management. These discussions will be ongoing as part of determining future directions for the Forum.
There has been a continued increase in participation in the Forum. In total, there are now 59 companies and 322 individuals participating in the Forum.
Next Steps
The focus up until the Austin event will be on the finalization of content for the next version of the Technical Standard.
