Q: How long have you been involved with The Open Group?

Glenfis has been involved with The Open Group since 2012 when we first achieved accreditation for TOGAF® level 1 and 2 classroom trainings. But years before, we were following the activities of The Open Group.

    Q. What do you do, and how long have you been doing it?

Glenfis was founded in 1999. As an independent consultancy and accredited training company, we help businesses, service providers and employees to become fit for the demands posed by the cloud and multi-sourcing, now and in the future. To this end, we use the ‘Glenfis Principle’ – a holistic approach that, alongside theoretical knowledge, attaches particular importance to the mediation of practical skills (competence), which can be used to successfully and lastingly deploy this knowledge in the company or organization (Implementation).

Within The Open Group community, we offer the TOGAF® program and are participating in the development the IT4IT™ program.

Q: Why did your organization become a member and what does your involvement look like?  What Forum did your organization join?

As a leading and independent consultancy and accredited training company, Glenfis is specialised in the establishment and implementation of integrated and holistic IT governance, in particular in the context of new requirements posed by the cloud and sourcing. We engage with many framework owners and standards bodies like ITIL®, COBIT® ISO20000 and ISO27001. So we wanted to join The Open Group in 2012 because we believe in TOGAF® as one of the strongest and internationally best-accepted architectural framework. Actually we are member of the IT4IT Forum and Architecture Forum.

Q: How has membership in The Open Group benefited you, your organization and the industry at large?

As a member of The Open Group, we are able to be part of a collaborative and innovation driven community. Through its open model, we are getting in touch with the development of the new releases and are able to bring in the challenges we see the business has today.  We benefit from this knowledge, and it allows us to deliver valuable training programs to training and consulting organizations.

Q: What contributions do you hope to bring to The Open Group?

Glenfis is a well-known consultancy and training company in the German speaking area. Our membership has helped us to bring the new frameworks in our market though our training and consultancy services. Especially in the area of multi-sourcing environment, we will introduce IT4IT as a standard reference architecture to build the service integration platform (SIAM, Service Integration and Management).

Q: Why is it important for other organizations to join The Open Group?

We are living in a highly demanding market where IT is dramatically changing. It was always important for Glenfis to be part of the community who builds the standards and frameworks, which helps to overcome the challenges of today. With The Open Group, we have such a collaborative community and environment to join the discussions and benefit from first hand experiences.

    Q: What are your hobbies?

I love skiing. Whenever in winter my time allows, I’m going back to my hometown Saas Grund in Wallis, southern Switzerland.

Q: What book are you currently reading?

I’m reading too much technical stuff and find unfortunately seldom space to read an exciting novel. This I miss very much.

    Q.  What social networks do you belong to?

Oh, too many: Twitter, Xing, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ - just a few of the most used.

    Q: Any last thoughts?

My company is now in its seventeenth year, and IT is still so exciting that I have the feeling of still being in a startup environment. With IT4IT, I strongly believe that we will reach the goals which we already had with ITIL and COBIT. But this time: faster, cheaper and better. Cross the fingers.
