Q: How long have you been involved with The Open Group?  Target Energy Solutionsjust joined as part of the OSDU forum.

    Q. What do you do, and how long have you been doing it?  We build cloud-based data platforms for upstream businesses including national data repositories and corporate customers. I’ve been building these types of solutions since the mid 1990s!

Q: Why did your organization become a member of The Open Group Open Subsurface Data Universe Forum and what does your involvement look like?  We could see that OSDU was a very exciting community initiative and we wanted to be part of it; to be part of a community that works together to progress our collective art.

Q: How has membership in The Open Group benefited you, your organization and the industry at large?  It’s been a great way of sharing ideas with some of the leading thinkers in our industry. The industry at large benefits when we come together to collaborate on shared problems and opportunities, instead of working in isolation.

Q: What contributions do you hope to bring to The Open Group?  A deep understanding of how to deliver a digital data foundation to the upstream oil and gas sector, oh, and maybe some code ☺.

Q: Why is it important for other organizations to join The Open Group?  We are stronger together, the greater our mindshare, the faster we will leap forward into the future.

Q: What are your hobbies?  Playing the guitar badly and reading well.

Q: What book are you currently reading?  Three Books: Steven Pinker, “The Blank Slate”; Martin Geck, “Richard Wagner – a life in Music”; and Jonathan Wilson, “Inverting the Pyramid - a History of Football Tactics”.

    Q.  What social networks do you belong to?  Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter.

Q: Any last thoughts?  It’s too soon for that ☺ or perhaps: “Enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think …”
